Embedding
Put an unlisted or public pane on any website. Embeds run in the same sandbox as the share page, and show the pane's latest version each time they load.
Make the pane embeddable
Other sites' frames carry no Openpane sign-in, so a private pane, the default, shows “Pane not found” there. Make it unlisted or public first: on its Share page, or with visibility in update_pane or the API.
With an iframe
Replace PANE_ID with the pane's id, the last part of its link, and set the height you want.
<iframe src="https://openpane.oblaidish.com/p/PANE_ID/embed" sandbox="allow-scripts allow-forms allow-popups allow-modals" style="width:100%;height:480px;border:1px solid #e2e2e2;border-radius:8px" loading="lazy" title="Openpane"></iframe>With the loader script
The script turns every element with data-openpane into an embedded pane, loaded lazily. data-height sets its height (480px if you leave it out). Add the script once per page.
<div data-openpane="PANE_ID" data-height="480px"></div>
<script async src="https://openpane.oblaidish.com/embed.js"></script>How embeds behave
- An embed shows the pane alone, without the Openpane bar, and fills its frame.
- It keeps your page safe: the frame's sandbox (
allow-scripts allow-forms allow-popups allow-modals) never lets the pane read your cookies, your storage or your page. - If the pane is deleted, made private or gets a new link, the embed shows “Pane not found”.
- Search engines count a public pane's content toward the page that embeds it.
From your AI or code
create_pane answers with an iframe snippet for unlisted and public panes, and every pane the API returns has its embedUrl.
