Your API key
Most clients connect with a personal API key that starts with opk_. Make keys on the API keys page: pick a client there, and Openpane makes a key named after it, fills the key into every step and tells you when the client connects. The Claude app and ChatGPT sign in instead: you allow them on Openpane, and they show under Connected apps on the same page.
- Make one key per client, so you can revoke one without breaking the rest.
- A key creates and edits panes as you, so keep it out of shared files and code. Openpane stores only a hash of it: a lost key can't be shown again, so revoke it and make a new one.
